A small kitchen works better when every cabinet supports a specific task.
Map your daily cooking route
Watch how you move between refrigerator, sink, preparation area and stove. Place frequently used tools near the task they support, while keeping handles, cords and flammable items away from heat.
Audit before buying organizers
Empty one drawer at a time. Group duplicates, dispose of damaged items safely and return only what you actually use. Keep a small donation box outside the kitchen so sorting does not create new clutter.
Measure the awkward spaces
Record internal cabinet width, depth and height, including hinges and plumbing. A shelf riser or pull-out tray is useful only if it does not block doors or waste more clearance than it creates.
Build a maintenance habit
Reserve a few minutes after grocery shopping to return tools to their zones. Leave a little free space in each drawer; tightly packed storage is hard to maintain.
Putting the guide into practice
Choose one change from the steps above and try it in the space or routine described. Check whether it makes the task easier before spending money or expanding the project.
